Social Media Policy

N2growth's social media efforts are championed by Mike Myatt. All opinions, beliefs and commentary shared or communicated via the N2growth Blog, Twitter, Facebook, TED, YouTube, Google+ or LinkedIn accounts are those of Mike Myatt and do not necessarily reflect the beliefs of N2growth. The following bullet points outline the current social media policy for N2growth and Mike Myatt:

  • General Philosophy: N2growth believes in social media and participates in a number of different platforms and networks. Mr. Myatt uses social media primarily as a listening, learning, and discussion tool. While Mr. Myatt is open to new ideas and relationships at a business and professional level, he is happily married and not interested in any activities or relationships that would be disrespectful to his family.
  • Commenting Policy: While the N2growth Blog accepts comments, Mike Myatt actively moderates comments and reserves the right to delete any comments that in his sole discretion have content that:

    • are abusive

    • are overly self-promotional

    • are clearly off-topic

    • spew hateful rhetoric

    • contain ad-hominem attacks (attack the issue not the person)

    • are not family friendly

    • are a blatant use of spam

  • Following Policy: The following policy of N2growth is left to the sole discretion of Mike Myatt and may not reflect the beliefs or opinions held by N2growth. The following items give you an overview of who Mr.Myatt will or will not follow, add, or friend on sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.:

    • Twitter: Mr. Myatt maintains a discretionary following policy and will not automatically follow back everyone who follows him. He follows people or entities with whom he intends to build relationships, that provide meaningful or insightful information, or that share some form of common interest. The fact that Mr. Myatt chooses to follow someone on Twitter does not imply that any endorsement or relationship exists. Likewise the fact that Mr. Myatt does not follow you back does not mean he is not interested in what you have to say, but is more likely based upon his inability to actively engage with everyone who follows him. Furthermore any paid endorsements will be disclosed accordingly.

    • LinkedIn: Mr. Myatt has a more liberal policy for adding contacts on LinkedIn than he does adding followers on Twitter. Mr. Myatt will generally accept most LinkedIn connection requests that are of a business or professional nature. However he does not typically accept invitations from recruiters or others solely attempting to mine his contacts for solicitation purposes.

    • Facebook: Mr. Myatt will generally only accept business and professional contacts. Most of his activity on Facebook is generated via Twitter feeds or blog post syndications. However, he will respond to comments for those who prefer to use Facebook vs. leaving comments directly on the blog.

    • YouTube: N2growth posts a wide variety of promotional videos on YouTube, but does not actively use this channel for engaging in conversations. The best way to engage Mr. Myatt in conversation is via the N2growth Blog or Twitter.

    • TED: Mr. Myatt does from time-to-time engage in conversation via the TED conversations platform.

    • Google+: Mr. Myatt is exploring Google+ and looking into how to best blend its use into the mix. Feel free to share any ideas.

Stalking

N2growth and Mike Myatt appreciate your desire to interact, but don't be desperate - if you scare us we won't engage with you. Put simply, overly aggressive behavior is likely to get you blocked. Let the value you add to N2growth readers speak for itself - it will be sufficient.

N2growth Employees

N2growth employees are encouraged to use social media while at work to engage with each other and to engage with our stakeholders. We trust your judgment and value your insights and observations.

Mike Myatt's Endorsement Philosophy

Those companies or individuals desiring to pitch something need to pay attention to the following guidelines. While I don't accept paid advertising on this site, I will consider offering endorsements for products, services or content that I believe in. If and when I do accept products to review, I will always fully disclose the situation with which I am reviewing the product/service noting specifically what I have received for free, what I have been compensated for, and what I paid for out of my own pocket. When I do write about a product /service, you can trust that I'll offer my candid opinion. I will never serve as a mouthpiece by writing what is asked of me on the behalf of a third party. Even when compensated for an endorsement it may not always result in a positive plug.

What Mike Myatt Will Endorse/Accept

The items/things Mr. Myatt will endorse or accept are usually closely aligned with my professional interests (leadership, innovation, strategy, personal branding, social media, technology, politics, etc). The best way to evaluate what Mr. Myatt might be interested in reviewing is to spend some time reading past posts on his blog or following his Twitter feed. On a professional level, Mr. Myatt is an author and appreciates the effort and insights required to write a book and therefore he will often do book blurbs, endorsements, and reviews. These are not typically paid endorsements, and when they are they will be disclosed.

What Mike Myatt Won't Accept Or Write About

Mr. Myatt won't accept any products or services to review if you have a specific point of view that you are requiring him to share. Mr. Myatt also will not have anything to do with adult entertainment or gambling. There are no banners or text ads on this blog, and for the near future I will keep it that way.
