I’ll Bet You Are Too Quick to Judge With Ian Winer

Ian Winer is an investor, philosopher, writer, and public speaker who connects people to the truth of market places and human behavior.

A regular contributor to CNBC, Fox Business, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and Reuters, to name just a few, he is known for seeking connections through non-consensus thinking and making it relatable to everyone. Ian left his career on Wall Street after 22 years to further explore his theory of “Ubiquitous Relativity” which suggests ways to enhance our connections to others. His first book, “Ubiquitous Relativity,” which was just published on June 4th, 2019, takes a deep dive into how his theory can improve the lives of everyone.

Today I talk to Ian about breaking out of the prison of our own perspectives and rigidity of thought to become a better person and to lead with clear eyes.

Key Leadership Takeaways:

  • Pause on judgments, pursue a deeper connection to the world around you, and consider that the truth of the universe as you know it is not necessarily the truth as everyone knows it.
  • Focus on the fun of the human experience
  • A leader must understand that their perspective is just that…theirs. Open your blinders and ensure you are looking at things from different angles.

Leader Action Plan:

  • Be in control of your life and question everything (it’s OK to do that) and of course never be quick to judge!
  • “We can either sit on Twitter and Facebook and beat the crap out of each other all day or we can accept that we know almost nothing about “them” and that maybe, just maybe some of “them” can wind up being our closest connections.-Ian
