George Vlachos is an international corporate governance, Board leadership, and executive advisory professional with more than 30 years of senior executive and advisory experience across multiple industries, markets, and organisational environments.

At N2Growth, he leads the development of the firm’s Board & Corporate Governance Leadership – Board Services in Greece and Cyprus. His work integrates Board effectiveness, governance architecture, leadership capability and succession to help organisations deliver strategy, engage stakeholders and create sustainable enterprise value. Since 2013, George has advised Boards, Chairs, shareholders, CEOs and senior leadership teams on Board and Executive Committee architecture, effectiveness and development, governance transformation, Board composition and collective suitability, CEO and Board succession, leadership assessment and organisational alignment. Over the past decade, he has contributed to 300+ Board and corporate-governance advisory assignments involving listed companies, banks, financial institutions, stock exchanges, public organisations, professional services firms and multinational companies.

George is also Managing Partner & Principal of Strategic Board Leadership (SBL), an independent advisory boutique focused on corporate governance leadership development for Boards and Executive Committees, with expertise in Board training and development architecture across the Balkans and the European Union. Earlier, George spent more than 21 years with Mattel Inc., ultimately serving as General Manager and Regional Managing Director, with responsibility across 96 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He subsequently spent nine years as a Strategic Business Partner with Stanton Chase International, developing Board Advisory Services internationally, including Board effectiveness, leadership and succession. He has also provided project-based strategic advisory support to Advent International.

His current areas of focus include Board effectiveness and performance, Board composition and future readiness, CEO and Board succession, leadership assessment, AI and technology governance, organisational resilience and executive leadership alignment. George serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence (NCBE) and a Council Member and Governance Faculty Expert of The Corporate Governance Institute (CGI), Ireland. He is also a practitioner member of ECGI, a Certified Director and Member of the IoD UK, and a member of the Financial Times Non-Executive Directors’ Club and other professional governance organisations. George holds an MBA and Diploma in Marketing from Nottingham Trent University and has undertaken executive education at Thunderbird School of Global Management, the Center for Creative Leadership and INSEAD
