The Challenge

A fast-growing, publicly-traded healthcare services and technology company with operations spread across 14 states, engaged N2Growth for Healthcare Technology executive search finding their inaugural SVP of Operations.

The SVP of Operations would be responsible for all aspects of clinical operations, including strategic planning, goal setting, operational decision-making, plan execution, clinical operations budget, labor management, and patient quality and experience.

Our client was seeking a qualified individual who would provide the operational heft and leadership necessary to execute the company’s vision and drive the trajectory of the company’s aggressive growth plan. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and responsible for day-to-day operations, the SVP of Operations needs to be a strong leader with executive presence and a strong background in optimizing and executing new processes.

The Company was looking for the right leader who would work with the leadership team to achieve collaborative, operationally efficient, patient-centric, and with an eye on continued aggressive growth. They desired an executive with a background in large, multidisciplinary, multi-state healthcare systems which would develop and lead operational efficiencies while also helping to enable their growth strategy.

The Mission

Our client was looking to hire a seasoned executive to help them embark on a strategic growth journey with oversight and responsibility for all company operations. The Company recognized the need to hire a designated operations executive with robust experience in complex healthcare system operations who would be able to help them continue to evolve and grow their business.

A major mandate of the role was to expand operations services and locations both organically and inorganically via strategic acquisitions. N2Growth set out to find the right SVP of Operations who would lead this initiative and propel the company’s continued growth journey.

The Result

The specific insights we drew and the alignment we found in the early days of this search created clarity and little need for specification iteration as the search developed. Our team rigorously mapped the market for candidates whose attributes were attuned to the needs of our client.

After dozens of interviews, we submitted a total of five candidates for consideration within five weeks. Despite navigating challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic and a slow holiday season, by day 85, our client and its top candidate executed an employment agreement.
