Client Story: Vice President for a Multi-Billion Dollar Hospital System

The Challenge

A $2bn+ hospital system in the northeast region of the U.S., and long time partner of N2Growth, engaged us to find its next Vice President of Revenue Cycle that would manage the hospital system’s back-end revenue cycle and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The client was looking to replace a retiring, long-term and very well liked leader. This national search was initiated in the spring of 2020, and it was conducted during the Covid-19 pandemic. The hospital system is within a few hours driving to New York City, the country’s epicenter of the pandemic at the time of the search, and the N2Growth team was able to successfully place a senior leader to help steer the organization through unprecedented times. 

The Mission

Our client, a multi-billion dollar hospital system with a mission to enhance lives and preserve health by enabling access to comprehensive, fully integrated network of the highest quality and most affordable care, delivered with kindness, integrity and respect, required a new Vice President of Revenue Cycle to lead the back-end revenue cycle function and team. The CFO and Interim CHRO asked N2Growth to help them identify the next financial leader that would help lead this rapidly growing hospital system’s revenue cycle management organization as they plan to double their revenue in the next five years through organic and inorganic growth. This growth plan will increase their payer mix and require experience and thought leadership in personnel and systems integration.

The Result

Through the establishment of a strong partnership with the Interim CHRO and a clear understanding of what the CFO expected in the next leader within his organization, the N2Growth team was able to overcome relocation challenges in the midst of a pandemic. After dozens of interviews with candidates from across the country, we were able to identify an overqualified candidate that recently left a hospital more than twice the size of our client (in revenue) after a 28-year career and most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Patient Revenues, a larger role in a larger organization. Our client executed an employment agreement with a female financial leader that could make lasting positive impacts on their organization within her first day on the job.
