Gene Oh

Gene Oh is a Managing Partner of N2Growth and head of the executive search office in South Korea. Gene leads the Seoul-based team to prioritize alignment across the firm's global network and among multinational and Korean corporate clients for executive search and leadership advisory services.

Before joining N2Growth, Gene's career spanned two decades in financial services, marked by increasingly challenging roles in quantitative analysis, trading, derivative sales, and relationship management. Starting in Chicago at Bank of America's high-frequency algorithmic trading team, he transitioned to market risk and IT. Next, at ABN AMRO/LaSalle Bank, Bank of America, and US Bank, he worked closely with C-suite executives of large corporate, middle market, and financial institutions on derivative solutions. Moving to Korea's capital, Seoul, his place of birth, in 2009, Gene joined Korea Exchange Bank (now Hana Bank) as a founding member of its macro trading desk, where he managed outbound trading for a wide range of instruments.

Leveraging his broad executive network, he advanced to relationship management at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank's Seoul branch. There, he built up its MNC and Korean large corporate JV portfolio by precisely identifying clients' needs and solutions and applying insights gained throughout his career. He then served as the executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce Korea (AMCHAM). Gene has assumed leadership roles in the financial services space. He is a member of the Korea Blockchain Association (KBCA) and the Global Finance Society (GFS) of Korea. He is also a non-executive board member of a prominent Korean fintech start-up and an advisor to a U.S. based biotech firm.

Gene received an EMBA from Seoul National University. He obtained his bachelor's in Management from the Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated cum laude. He is bicultural and fluent in English and Korean. As an avid reader and learner of management strategy and leadership, Gene is also a devoted tennis player and is perpetually working on his golf game. When not playing sports, he often retreats to the kitchen to perfect a medium-rare steak.
