The Challenge in Finding Multiple Leaders: A F1000 Company

Four placements for transformational leaders in just two years posed a formidable challenge, especially for an F1000 company. They urgently required a Chief Information Officer (CIO) with global digital transformation experience. The client, a Fortune 1000 public company, was transitioning significantly from a traditional global battery manufacturer to a stored energy and digital solutions provider.

The Mission

In close collaboration with the CEO and VP of Human Resources, N2Growth presented two slates of candidates from within and adjacent to the industry. After several interviews with the candidates, a finalist round with leadership, and conversations with the team, the client determined they had the necessary talent on staff. As such, they offered the role to an internal candidate. Through this transparency; our team became a trusted advisor to the client.

The newly appointed CFO sought to hire the company’s first-ever Vice President of Investor Relations. They again requested the assistance and expertise of N2Growth. In just three months, they hired a Vice President of Investor Relations who has transformed their market messaging and positioning while deftly handling corporate communications and public relations.

After a lengthy tenure, the SVP & CAO announced his retirement nine months later. But the obstacles continued to arise. The CFO reached out to N2G for assistance in restructuring the role and identifying a candidate to assist with finance transformation, digitization, and road mapping who would work well with the CIO.

Despite the highly competitive market for finance and accounting leaders, they successfully hired a seasoned candidate from within the industry with a proven track record of finance transformation and business leadership after just four months. 

Not two months after the start of the CAO search, the CHRO was looking to retire. A replacement for the CHRO was a confidential search requiring significant trust. He reached back out to the team at N2Growth. Less than 90 days later, they successfully hired a global leader with all the requisite skillsets allowing for overlap time with the incumbent. The new leader required industry knowledge, depth in change management, and global transformation expertise. This role was to develop the talent strategy to set the stage for significant growth.
